I don’t think that I have ever faced a more uncertain time
in my life. (Ok, maybe a few times come
to mind.) But this time the whole world
seems to be facing many of the same uncertainties at the same time. And then, of course, we each have our own
unique set of circumstances to add to the stress. It is the perfect time for those of us who
have faith in God to share it with others.
If we are too shy or afraid to share our beliefs with words and
conversations, we can still share our source of joy and peace through our
actions. When times are hard and life is
stressful, our faith can really shine. The
way(s) we deal with the pressure and uncertainty of these crazy times can be a
blessing to others. When we say things
like “God has a plan” or “I’m trusting God to see me through all of this”, we
are sharing our faith with others. If we
find ways to help others who need assistance, we are sharing God’s love with
others. We don’t have to be perfect
human beings to be used by God. (There
are no perfect human beings!) There is a
mighty storm of fear and doubt raining down on the world today. It is our calling to be beacons of light that
share our faith and show others the way to a peaceful harbor. Acts 17:27 (NIV) says: “God did this so
that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he
is not far from any one of us.” 2
Corinthians 4:6 (NIV) says: “For God,
who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our
hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory
displayed in the face of Christ.”
Matthew 5:16 (TLB) says: “Don’t
hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see,
so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” Let your light shine! Smile and be joyful!
