When we are having a bad day, full of challenges it is easy to think we are the only ones. So many people “put on a good face” which makes us wonder, “what’s wrong with me?”. But really, every person we meet is fighting a battle of some kind. Some are fighting against illness. Some have financial problems. Other people’s battles are in their heart or in their mind. These can be very lonely battles because no one else seems to understand the struggle or the person hides what is going on and no one knows they need help or support. It is important to treat everyone with kindness and compassion because we never know when we might be the bright spot in someone’s day. God did not promise us a life without problems, but He did promise to be there for us when we call on Him. So, let’s pray for ourselves and let’s pray for each other in these very uncertain times. John 16:33 (NIV) says: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Colossians 3:12 (NIV) says: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Be kind to one another. Smile and be joyful!
