“Well begun is half done.”- Aristotle. I always thought this quote came from Mary Poppins. She says it in the movie. Apparently, Mary studied Greek philosophy. Either way, I agree. If there is something that needs to be done, having a game plan is vital. But ideas and plans are the easy parts of a project. Dreaming and imagining take very little effort. (Hello, Pinterest!) I can do that in my recliner with my feet up. Ideas and lists… piece of cake. For me, the hard part is physically starting the work. READY (yep), SET (got it), GO! (you mean now?) But, once I start, I’m like a boulder rolling downhill. I gain momentum and you should probably stay out of my way because I also believe “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” And “Finish what you start.” (I’m such a mom.) People are God’s projects. We are a work in progress. He is always thinking of us, finding ways to improve us, build us up, make us better and stronger. His plans are perfect, and He is always on the job. We may not always understand what he is doing or why, but we must trust His loving purpose for us. When we are making plans and decisions, it is wise to ask for His advice and guidance. Even as we begin a new day, it is a good idea to run the plan by God for his blessing. As they say at Home Depot, it’s “how doers get more done”. They also used to say “You can do it. We can help.” I think God likes that slogan. Philippians 1:6 says: “And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.” And Proverbs 19:21 says: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Have a full and happy day! Smile and be joyful!
